Bar food comes in many shapes and sizes. There’s your mediocre wing joint, the place that serves awesome tots, the place that keeps the kitchen open until 3 and then there’s the bar that adds a clever twist to your food and makes you keep coming back for more. Myth and Moonshine is the latter, their menu is full of traditional bar fare, but plenty of the items have an interesting creole twist to them.
On a Saturday night, my friend and I were looking to grab dinner before hitting the bars so we decided to try Myth and Moonshine in Canton. Unfortunately, when we got to the bar at 7:30, some girl was having a bachelorette party so it was already loud but that didn’t deter us from enjoying our meal.
Myth and Moonshine is another one of the restaurants that we have a dining card for. Here are all the restaurants I’ve reviewed that I have a city dining card for.
After looking over the menu, my friend who is a true Marylander, decided to order the Crabby Grilled Cheese. It was loaded with MD blue crab and cheddar jack cheese on griddled sourdough. She loved this sandwich and devoured it.
I was just in the mood for a burger and decided to order the Bordeaux Burger. It’s a Cast-Iron Seared locally sourced beef topped with southern style slaw, crimson tomato slice, and cheddar jack cheese on griddled brioche. This was the best burger I’ve ever had (sorry Abbey Burger) the piece of meat was so juicy and cooked perfectly. In addition the slaw was great and added a nice crunch.
Both the burger and the grilled cheese came with a side of Fries. The French Fries were seasoned nicely and it was a perfect sized portion.
We also ordered the Beignets for dessert. The menu stated that the recipe was from Cafe Du Monde so we were excited to try these. Unfortunately they were extremely dense and doughy and we were not a fan.
For some great bar food with an interesting twist, as well as possibly the best burger I’ve ever had, head over to Myth and Moonshine in Canton.
