Canton

Canton: Atwater’s

Recently, I visited Atwater’s in Canton for lunch. The food was great and I enjoyed the experience. Later that day I was reading some articles I had bookmarked, low and behold, Atwater’s is now making ice cream. So I made a mental note that next time I was craving ice cream, I would skip The Charmery and try Atwater’s in Canton.

When the ice cream craving struck next, I grabbed my roommate and trusty dining companion and we headed over to Canton.

I’m not really sure what I was expecting, but when I walked to the counter and told her we just wanted ice cream, she told us to grab a seat. The situation turned into a dining-in/sit down experience, but overall the service was great and we were in and out fairly quickly.

When the waiter told us the flavors of the day, we were both intrigued by the Salted Caramel. My roommate ordered a cup of the salted caramel and it was served with a great cookie for dunking. The ice cream was very sweet with a nice salty aftertaste and it tasted wonderful.

Of all the flavors listed to me, the Salted Caramel also seemed the most enticing. In the Baltimore Magazine article, it suggested ordering a ‘Sea Salt Brownie Milkshake’ I got a little creative with this suggestion and ordered the Salted Caramel Milkshake with a Brownie blended in. This was wonderful and added a nice chocolately element to the shake, in addition there were brownie chunks at the bottom of the shake which were delicious.

The ice cream at Atwater’s in Canton is just as delicious as their lunch offerings and if you’re in a mood for a sweet treat while you’re in the neighborhood, I’d highly recommend trying it.
