A friend recently raved to me about how much she loved Supano’s Steakhouse. If you’re unfamiliar, Supano’s is an Italian steakhouse located in Downtown Baltimore. It has a very old school / rat pack feel and a Frank Sinatra theme.
A friend and I recently had some good news to celebrate and were craving Italian food so we decided to head over to Supano’s Steakhouse for dinner. My friend and I decided to order a few different Italian options rather than steak because Supano’s is an Italian Steakhouse and we were ready to be blown away by Italian food. There are plenty of steakhouses in the city where you can get a great steak.
My friend started her meal with the Caesar Salad. She said it was good, but nothing particularly remarkable.
I started my meal with the Mozzarella Carrosso that our waitress recommended (she was wonderful, her name was Erin.) The dish was fresh mozzarella cheese on on a slice of bread, fried and then in a creamy pink sauce. This was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, packed with flavor and stuffed with delicious mozzarella cheese. It was basically mozzarella sticks on steroids.
My friend ordered the Baked Ziti which was good, but again not particularly noteworthy. For the prices Supano’s is charging, we both anticipated homemade pasta instead of something we can make at home.
Again, a major mistake in our ordering was that I decided to also try an Italian dish and went with the Chicken Parmigiana. The pasta that came with the dish was definitely not home made, the chicken was fried more than I would have liked it to be and greasy and the dish was very light on the cheese.
Overall, my friend and I were not particularly satisfied with our experience at Supano’s and probably should have ordered a steak like my friend suggested.
