I really need to give the city dining cards as much credit as they deserve. Flipping through them is how I’ve discovered many of my favorite spots in the city (Verde, Myth & Moonshine and Nickel Taphouse to name a few.) Recently I was looking for a dinner spot and I came across the card for The Chasseur in Canton.
After reading a few reviews and finding a dining companion, we headed over to Canton.
One of the things that I read on the menu that sounded delicious was the Duck Fat Tots. They were sprinkled with parmesan cheese and served with a side of avocado ranch. The tots were great and a huge portion but we were unable to finish the basket because they were a touch on the salty side.
My friend decided to order the Crab Mac & Cheese which had lump crab, aged cheddar, old bay, and Sriracha on the side. My friend really enjoyed this dish and said it was loaded with hunks of crab meat and a lot of cheese.
I ordered the Tuna Tartare Tacos. In the tacos was, ahi tuna, cucumbers, and sesame seeds and they were in crispy wonton shells with a chili-garlic emulsion sauce. I really liked these, but after the saltiness from the tots I had to scoop the tuna out of the tacos and only ended up eating that part. The tuna was fresh and the sauce had a nice spicy kick.
For a neighborhood gem with great food, The Chasseur is worth a visit!
