In Annapolis, a new taco spot opened up called Vida Taco Bar. The restaurant focuses on tacos made with fresh ingredients. And a menu full of tacos is one that I could really get behind.
My friends and I each started the meal out with a drink. I’m not a huge tequila drinker so I went with the Vida Hibiscus Sangria. the sangria consists of pinot blanc, cab sauvignon, fruit lab hibiscus, strawberry & pineapple gomme, mint. It was delicious and not overly sweet.
As a group, we decided to share the White Queso dip. The dip was a mix of chihuahua cheese, monterey jack, silver tequila, green chili, yellow onion, tomato and cilantro. We all really loved this queso, and even ordered a second round of chips to finish off the dip.
We all decided to order three tacos, and we were all thrilled with our choices.
For the tacos, you have the option of getting flour, corn, or lettuce for your tortilla. I opted for the healthiest option and went with lettuce. The first of my two tacos was the Carne Asada. It had grilled steak, pico de gallo, queso fresco, and salsa roja. This taco was packed with flavor. I would order it again in a heartbeat.
I also tried the Mahi Mahi. This one was sweet and spicy and I loved it. The pan seared fish was served with pineapple salsa, pickled onions, guava hot sauce, and queso fresco.
The final and my favorite taco was the Fried Avocado. The avocado was super creamy and this one also had a bit of a kick. It was topped with jalapeno, onion, and brick sauce which had a smokey-spicy taste. It was awesome.
