Update – Pasticcio is now closed.
In Canton, I love Pasta Mista. It’s quick and the food is awesome. But sometimes I’m in the mood for Italian food that’s still casual but with waiter service. My roommate and I already needed to run a few errands in Canton, so we decided to try out Pasticcio, I’ve heard their pastas are good and it is over by the Can Company so there’s ample parking.
When we sat down, we were given complimentary bread. I had already read some Yelp! reviews and they suggested asking for a side of the greenie sauce. Greenie sauce is a combination of olive oil and pesto and the bread tasted great dipped in it.
For our meal, my roommate decided to order the Baked Cheese Ravioli. Baked pasta dishes are infinitely better than ones that aren’t in my opinion because they come with an extra layer of cheese which usually has a nice crust. And this dish was no exception, it was ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese, topped with mozzarella and served with marinara sauce. The dish was cheesy and exactly how ravioli should be.
The pastas also came with a side of Garlic Bread which we thoroughly enjoyed, but probably wouldn’t order independently.
For my meal, I ordered Fettuccini Bolognese which is one of my favorite dishes (I loved it at Salt Air.) This dish came with ground beef sauteed in a pink cream sauce and was on the larger size. The meat was flavorful, the pasta was tender, and the sauce wasn’t too heavy or overpowering for the dish. Next time I’m at Pasticcio I’ll probably want to try a new dish, but be unable to resist the temptation of ordering another Fettuccini Bolognese because it was awesome.
My roommate also decided to order a side of French Fries which was an unnecessary decision. The fries were okay, I prefer thin cut and they really didn’t add much to our meal.
If you’re in Canton and craving Italian food, I’d highly suggest stopping into Pasticcio for some truly delicious pasta dishes – you won’t be disappointed.
