If you ask anyone for a recommendation for a nice restaurant in Canton, odds are they will suggest Blue Hill Tavern. It’s easy to see why, the restaurant is beautiful, if you’re looking for nice outdoor dining in the summer, Blue Hill Tavern has a great patio where you can enjoy your meal.
I heard that Blue Hill Tavern has a wonderful hamburger so one of my friends and I headed over to check out the restaurant.
My friend that I was with, was in the mood for a classic pairing, steak and a salad. Blue Hill Tavern is a nice restaurant, it’s the type of place where a steak wouldn’t disappoint you.
My friend chose the Caesar Salad which came with baby romaine, garlic crouton, and shaved parmesan cheese. It was a caesar salad from a nice American restaurant, unsurprisingly it was wonderful. The dressing was creamy and the lettuce was fresh, it was a great Caesar Salad.
I decided to start with the Tomato Soup. The soup was thick and creamy and came with a delicious cheese encrusted crouton. It was a perfect starter.
As I mentioned earlier, my friend ordered the NY Strip Steak. She was very happy about her decision. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Served with a bourbon blueberry glaze, a scalloped potato and green beans.
I had heard Blue Hill Tavern had one of the best burgers in the city. So of course I needed to order it. The Wagyu Beef Tavern Burger came on a brioche roll topped with cheddar cheese, crispy fried onions, spiced ketchup, and bacon. The burger was good, but was it my favorite burger in Baltimore? Probably not. I prefer some of the options I can build myself over at Abbey Burger or the Bordeaux Burger at Myth and Moonshine.
Overall my friend and I really enjoyed our meals, but I wouldn’t head over here for the burger alone. I’d be way happier with something else on the menu.
Blue Hill Tavern is located at 938 S Conkling St. in Canton.
