Update: 8 Ball is unfortunately closed.
Fells Point has recently been graced with a few new awesome restaurants. One of the new spots that received a lot of hype is 8 Ball Meatball. It specializes in meatballs, which you can order your way. Over a salad, on a sub, as sliders, or over spaghetti. Shortly after 8 Ball opened, I visited with fellow food blogger Arli, from Arli’s Appetite and we loved it. So much so that I visited again shortly after with one of my friends.
When you order your balls, there are a few steps. Step one is picking which meatball you want. I decided to get sliders so I can mix and match and a few different options.
First, I ordered the special ball which was spicy lamb topped with tzatziki sauce. This was awesome, I loved how spicy the lamb was and the cooling effect of the tzatziki sauce. I would love to see this regularly on the menu.
My next meatball was the chicken with the pesto sauce. This was also another winner, although I wish there was slightly more pesto, but that’s just me, I like a lot of sauce.
The third meatball I ordered was the classic with mushroom gravy. The meatball was a mix of beef, pork, and veal which gave it a ton of flavor and the mushroom gravy was awesome. This was another great meatball.
As a side, I ordered the Cheesy Polenta which was perhaps the highlight of the meal for me. The polenta was very creamy and the cheese wasn’t overpowering. The dish really reminded me of a mac and cheese and I loved it.
Arli opted to order something much more traditional and went with the classic meatballs over spaghetti with the spicy sauce. She loved this and thought the sauce had the perfect amount of spice.
If you’re craving meatballs and want to get creative, head over to Fells Point and try out all the options at 8 Ball for yourself!
