One of my favorite bars in Federal Hill recently rebranded as Wayward Southern Bar + Kitchen. One of my friends visited shortly after they reopened and shared a delicious picture of their Brisket Mac & Cheese. As a brisket and mac & cheese lover, this dish quickly topped my list of things I needed to try ASAP.

I showed my friend the picture and very easily convinced her that this was the brunch plan. When we got there, it was a beautiful Sunday morning so we opted to start with crushes. Specifically a grapefruit and strawberry lemonade. The strawberry lemonade was my favorite, but they were both great.

My friend opted to order the Pig n’ Cow Omelette which was delicious. It was a bacon and cheddar omelette topped with a pile of their delicious smoked brisket. This omelette is a meat lovers dream! The brisket was moist and tender. If you’re craving meat and you’re at brunch, this is the dish for you.

I opted to order the Brisket Mac n’ Cheese – and this was easily the best mac n’ cheese I’ve ever had. The smoked gouda combined with the tender flavorful brisket was one of the best flavor combinations I’ve had in a while. I will be back for this dish, without question.
