Mount Washington: The Corner Pantry

Where is your favorite place to get an egg sandwich? This is a serious question, leave a comment here or tell me on Instagram or Facebook. I love egg sandwiches – I could probably eat them three times a week if not more.

One of my absolute favorite egg sandwiches is from The Corner Pantry in Mount Washington. Since the British have invaded Falls Road (in the best possible way) they have been serving up killer breakfast. Recently, they threw dinner service into the mix. I had a chance to try it earlier this month and I was completely blown away.

The menu features a few to-go options from the cold bar if you’re in a rush as well as a few daily specials from Chef Neill if you plan on dining in.

When I visited, one of the soups offered was a Wild Mushroom Soup. Yes, it’s the summer but I adore mushrooms and I couldn’t resist trying this. The soup was delicious, it was hearty and creamy and packed with that earthy mushroom flavor. When fall rolls around, you can bet that I will be picking up this soup refularly.

In addition to the soup, I also ordered the Swordfish Ceviche. The swordfish was diced and served with pickled scallions & jalapeno, diced mango, basil, and radish. This was the perfect summer dish. It was light and refreshing, but also the sweetness of the mango balanced out the light spice of the jalapeno. The fish was fresh and paired with the soup it was a little smaller than a full meal. Which is the way to go at The Corner Pantry, always save room for dessert.

All of the pastries looked phenomenal (because they are) so I grabbed a cookie for later that evening and a pop tart for a coworker and I to enjoy for breakfast the next day.
