Bethesda: Butchers Alley

I love a good butcher shop – and a butcher with a great cheese selection, well that’s just a match made in heaven. In Bethesda, this place exists and it’s filled with some of the most delicious meats, cheeses, and sauces that I’ve ever seen. Seriously, I want to move into Butchers Alley. The quality of the meat and cheese was unreal, plus they have a wonderful selection of sauces, rubs, and almost any other product you can imagine.

Using some of their high quality meats and cheeses, Butchers Alley also makes delicious adult grilled cheeses.

Some of the Sauces

Want to know what makes them adult? Well, they’re more mature than your kraft singles on some bread (I am not hating, I love that too!). The first grilled cheese I tried was basically a charcuterie board in a bite – Jamon, romesco, and manchengo cheese. Jamon is dry-cured ham from Spain and is possibly my new favorite thing in a grilled cheese. I love a good charcuterie board, so this charcuterie board inspired bite was obviously a winner.

I also tried the Turkey Grilled Cheese which came with swiss cheese, turkey, romesco, and grilled zucchini. This was also a winner, all of the ingredients were very fresh and combined perfectly. The grilled zucchini added a nice bit of moisture to the sandwich and I’m salivating thinking about it right now.
