If you’ve been following me for a while, then you may remember that last year I had a fantastic meal at Grille620 in Ellicott City. Well, the chef from that great spot is also heading up the kitchen a few miles down the road in Clarksville at River Hill Grill. With the promise of good food, I invited my good friend Taylor from StylishlyTaylored to join me for this meal.
Unfortunately, Chef Fabio wasn’t in the evening we visited – but everything was still phenomenal.
I’ve been on a little bit of a gin kick lately so I opted to start the meal with the Secret Garden. This drink was St. Germain gin, fresh lime juice, agave syrup, and muddled cucumber. With temperatures in the 90s the day we visited, this was a very refreshing drink to start the meal.
We opted to start with the Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer which may have been the smartest decision we made all evening. The tuna was blackened and drizzled with wassabi aioli and balsamic glaze. This was so fresh and so bright, plus our waitress told us this was her favorite dish too. When you visit River Hill Grill, this is a must order.
We also started our meal with an order of the Chicken Nachos. Chips smothered in chicken and cheese, what’s not to love? Nachos are one of my favorite dishes and this was another great version.
The burgers on the menu sounded completely drool-worthy and I opted to give the Old School Patty a try. Now this burger doesn’t look too over the top, and it wasn’t, which is exactly what I was in the mood for. The patty was so juicy – hey chef, do you have any tricks you want to share with me? And it was topped with caramelized onions, smoked ketchup, and American cheese. Another outstanding dish at River Hill Grill.
Taylor was also digging the burger vibes and she opted for the Cuban Burger. Ham, bacon, pickles, swiss, and grain mustard topped her burger and she loved it. It looks delicious.
