One of the things California is known for is their super fresh fish. So of course I needed to get some of that while I was there. I’m a huge fan of poke and the west coast has fully embraced the trend. I happened to walk by Poke Bowl Factory and knew this would be where I was getting my first taste of fresh West Coast Fish.

The spot is set up similarly to other poke places I’ve visited. There’s counter ordering where all the toppings are laid out. You select what you want, and the poke master assembles it for you.
For my base, I opted for brown rice and then I went a little crazy with the toppings. I added salmon, tuna, edamame, avocado, jalapeno, corn, cucumbers, roasted garlic, and sesame seeds. For my sauce I picked a combination of yuzu ponzu and spicy mayo. I could not have been happier with the selection of toppings. Everything was so fresh and was such a satisfying meal.

I also ordered a Strawberry Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich for dessert. This was such a treat. The ice cream was super creamy and full of strawberry flavor. While it became kind of a mess only a few bites in, I still really enjoyed it.
