Asian Food

Indianapolis, IN: Rook

When I was planning where I wanted to eat in Indy, of course I consulted one of my good friends, Taylor from Stylishly Taylored who had recently visited. She raved about dinner at Rook so I knew I had to fit it into my schedule. I went for lunch and was blown away by the medley of Asian influences.

I started with a cocktail called the Big Moma Thang. It was gin based and I loved every sip. A big thanks to the waiter for suggesting this.

I ordered a few small plates for lunch and taking another cue from the waiter, I started with the Avocado Steamed Bun, he said it was one of their most popular dishes and I can see why. Each bite was luscious and creamy and refreshing. This is a must order at Rook.

I also ordered the Tuna Ceviche. This was also an amazing dish, the fish was so fresh but it was so much spicier than I anticipated.

Lastly, I ordered the Mentaiko which was probably my favorite dish of the three. The ramen noodles were tossed in a creme fraiche, topped with pollack roe and miso brown butter breadcrumbs. The waiter described this as an Asian cacio e pepe and he was spot on. I’m drooling just thinking about this dish.
