For Father’s Day this year, Fleming’s Steakhouse is inviting you to celebrate with your dad (or anyone special to you, really). I had an opportunity to come in a few days before Father’s Day (June 17th this year!) and check out some of the offerings.
The whole menu looked seriously so delicious so we started with one of my favs, Ahi Tuna Poke. The fish was so fresh, and served over a bed of greens with an avocado-wassabi puree. I’d order this dish again for the avocado-wassabi puree alone. It was so creamy with just some heat, I’m drooling just thinking about it.
When we visited, Fleming’s had a Porterhouse special. The porterhouse is my favorite cut of meat. On one side, you have a filet and the other, a New York strip, seriously, is there anything better? As much as it pains me, my friend prefers her meat to be cooked medium-well, rather than medium-rare. We compromised with medium and on such a beautiful cut of meat, it tastes great no matter how it’s cooked.
The best part of a steak dinner is the sides. We went with the Mashed Potatoes and Chipotle Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese. The mashed potatoes were so creamy with some chunks of potatoes for added texture. We could not get enough.
But the Chipotle Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese was the real standout with the side dishes. It had a little bit of a smoky heat to it and tons of cheesy goodness. We kept going back for bite after bite.
After all of the decadent delicious dishes we ordered, we were too full for dessert but we saw a few plates go by and they all looked delicious.
