If you ask anyone in Baltimore where to get the best wings, there’s a good chance you’ll be directed to Kisling’s Tavern in Canton. A friend of mine was moving out of Canton and we were all in the mood for wings, so we decided to check out Kisling’s.
We decided to start with an order of Kisling’s Bay Fries to accompany our wings. These were hand cut fries topped with Old Bay – a Baltimore staple. They were really great and reminded us of the days at the beach soon to come.
We each decided to put in an order of wings for our meal, these are supposed to be the best in Baltimore after all. One friend went with Bourbon Style BBQ Wings. The wings were smothered in sauce, which is one of my favorite things, and this sauce had a nice kick from the bourbon. My friend throughly enjoyed it.
My friend went with the Smokey BBQ Style Wings. These were also very saucy but I found this BBQ sauce to be a little bit too sweet. My friend really loved it, but I prefer something with more of a kick.
For my wings, I decided on the Buffalo BBQ which mixed BBQ sauce with their aware winning buffalo sauce. These were delicious, they had a nice spice to them which was tempered a little by the BBQ sauce. Of the three flavors we tried, these were my personal favorite. They reminded me of the Oriole wings that I love from Delia Foley’s.
