Driving along Interstate 81 through Virginia is one of the most scenic road trips on the East Coast. The highway runs more than 300 miles through the Shenandoah Valley and passes charming towns like Winchester, Harrisonburg, and Staunton.
If you’re looking for great places to stop along I-81 for coffee, food, or a quick walk around a small town, here are some of my favorite road trip stops.
