One evening, my friend and I decided to shake things up and try somewhere new for dinner. After scrolling through a few options, we landed on B&O American Brasserie — a spot I’d heard great things about. We made a quick reservation on OpenTable and headed downtown to check it out.

Located inside the Hotel Monaco in downtown Baltimore, B&O American Brasserie has that perfect mix of old-school charm and modern warmth. The space is stylish and inviting — the kind of place that works just as well for a date night as it does for a dinner with friends.

My friend went for the Butcher’s Steak Frites, which came with persillade fries, an arugula salad, and béarnaise sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly — tender and flavorful — and the fries were crispy and seasoned just right.

As for me, I couldn’t resist the Short Rib Pot Roast. It arrived piled high over creamy buttermilk mashed potatoes with roasted root vegetables, crispy onions, and a rich natural jus. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, packed with flavor, and pure comfort food perfection. I’d order it again in a heartbeat.
