If you ask anyone in Baltimore where to find the best wings in town, there’s a good chance they’ll say Kisling’s Tavern in Canton. So when a friend of mine was moving out of the neighborhood and we were all craving wings, it only made sense to make Kisling’s our destination.

We kicked things off with an order of Kisling’s Bay Fries — hand-cut fries generously dusted with Old Bay, because what’s more Baltimore than that? They were crispy, salty, and just the right amount of spicy. Honestly, they reminded us of summer days at the beach, which made them even better.

Of course, we were really there for the wings, which have a reputation for being the best in the city — and after trying them, I totally get why.

One friend ordered the Bourbon Style BBQ Wings, which were absolutely drenched in sauce (just how I like it). The bourbon added a little kick that made the flavor stand out, and my friend was a big fan.

Another friend went with the Smokey BBQ Wings — also nice and saucy, though this BBQ sauce leaned a bit sweeter. My friend loved them, but I’m personally more into sauces with a little heat.

As for me, I couldn’t resist trying the Buffalo BBQ Wings, which combine Kisling’s award-winning buffalo sauce with their classic BBQ. Perfection. They had just the right amount of spice, mellowed out by that sweet, smoky BBQ flavor. Of all three we tried, these were hands-down my favorite — they reminded me a bit of the Oriole Wings I love from Delia Foley’s.

If you love saucy, flavorful wings, Kisling’s Tavern deserves a top spot on your Baltimore food list. Whether you’re watching the game, hanging out with friends, or just craving good pub food, it’s a local classic that never disappoints.
