Blueberry Lemon Thyme Doughnut

My friend and I decided to split a couple of doughnuts so we could try more than one flavor.

The Blueberry Lemon Thyme doughnut was the first choice, mainly because blueberry and lemon is one of my favorite flavor combinations.

The doughnut was light and fluffy, with bright citrus flavor balanced by the sweetness of the blueberry glaze. The subtle thyme added just enough herbal complexity to make it stand out.

Next up was the PB&J Doughnut, which was every bit as indulgent as it sounds.

It had a peanut butter icing, a jelly filling, and chopped peanuts on top for extra texture. The combination was nostalgic in the best way — like a childhood peanut butter and jelly sandwich turned into dessert.

Of course, you can’t visit Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken without ordering the chicken.

We shared a couple pieces, and I have to say it was some of the juiciest fried chicken I’ve ever had. The outside was perfectly crispy while the inside stayed tender and flavorful.

Honestly, by the end of the meal I still couldn’t decide which I liked more — the fried chicken or the doughnuts.
