Dinner at Squisito Pizza + Pasta

My girlfriend and I recently stopped by the Hanover location for dinner, and we quickly realized we wanted to try a little bit of everything on the menu. That enthusiasm may have led us to order slightly too much food—actually, we definitely ordered too much food—but the upside of that decision was having leftovers for the next day.

Starting With Garlic Knots

Garlic knots are one of my favorite things to order at Italian restaurants, so when we saw that Squisito offered both regular and pepperoni garlic knots we immediately knew we needed an order. They came out buttery, garlicky, and perfectly soft with just the right amount of doughy texture. Garlic knots are one of those simple dishes that can easily be forgettable, but when they’re done well they’re incredibly satisfying.

Juicy Meatballs With a Twist

One of the standout bites from the meal ended up being the meatballs. They were some of the juiciest meatballs I’ve had in a long time and unbelievably tender. What made them especially interesting was the addition of feta crumbles on top, which added a salty contrast to the rich tomato sauce. It’s a small detail but one that made the dish feel a little different from the typical Italian meatball appetizer.

Baked Ziti That Was Packed With Cheese

Possibly my favorite dish of the night was the baked ziti. The amount of cheese in this dish was exactly what you hope for when ordering baked pasta, and the sauce really stood out. Squisito’s sauce leaned mostly tomato-based, but you could taste a hint of creaminess that made the whole dish feel a little richer and more decadent. It was the kind of pasta dish that feels just as comforting the next day, and it reheated beautifully for lunch.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza, New York Style

The final dish we ordered was the Buffalo Chicken Pizza in New York style. The pizza had a nice kick and was topped with plenty of crispy, spicy buffalo chicken. One detail I really appreciated was the addition of raw celery on top, which added a subtle crunch that worked surprisingly well with the buffalo sauce. And of course, no buffalo chicken dish would be complete without a drizzle of ranch to bring everything together.
