In my opinion, the ultimate beach snack is a cold ice cream cone. After a long day in the sun, there’s nothing more refreshing than enjoying a scoop of ice cream by the shore. Whether you prefer chocolate, vanilla, or something a little more creative, ice cream is practically a beach vacation tradition.
Whenever I visit a new destination, I always like to scout out the best places to eat, from quick snacks to full meals. During a recent beach weekend on Long Beach Island (LBI), I knew an ice cream craving would hit at least once, so I did a little research to find the best spot.
That search led me to Skipper Dipper, a popular local ice cream shop located less than five minutes from where we were staying.

Unique Ice Cream Cones at Skipper Dipper
One of the first things that caught my eye when we walked into Skipper Dipper was their creative cone selection.
In addition to classic waffle cones, they also offer:
-
Cookie cones
-
Pretzel cones
Both options immediately stood out, since they add a fun twist to the traditional ice cream cone.
After a little deliberation, I decided the chocolate cookie cone would pair perfectly with cookies and cream ice cream, so that’s what I ordered.
The cookie cone was made from the same type of chocolate cookie found inside cookies and cream ice cream, which made the combination especially delicious. Every bite had that perfect blend of creamy ice cream and crunchy cookie.

The Sweet and Salty Pretzel Cone
My friend decided to try the pretzel cone, pairing it with a scoop of cookie dough ice cream.
The salty flavor of the pretzel cone created that classic sweet-and-salty combination that so many people love. It balanced the sweetness of the ice cream perfectly and made for a really satisfying dessert after a day at the beach.
If you’re someone who loves salty snacks with sweet desserts, the pretzel cone is definitely worth trying.
