After dinner at Nacho Mama’s in Canton, a friend and I were both craving something sweet. On our walk back to the car, we passed Vaccaro’s Italian Pastries — and there was no way we could resist stopping in.
The moment you step inside Vaccaro’s, you’re greeted by the heavenly smell of fresh pastries and espresso. A gleaming case of gelato sits beside rows of perfectly arranged cannoli, cakes, and other Italian classics. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to order one of everything.
My friend went with the Chocolate Top Cheesecake, a slice that could easily double as dessert for three nights (and it did). The cheesecake was rich and creamy, topped with a thick, fudgy layer of chocolate that tasted exactly how chocolate should — smooth, decadent, and indulgent.

As for me, I couldn’t resist my all-time favorite pastry: a Napoleon. The selection at Vaccaro’s was impressive, but the Chocolate-Vanilla Napoleon caught my eye immediately. The pastry layers were crisp and flaky, sandwiching a silky custard that struck the perfect balance between light and rich. I especially loved the chocolate drizzle on top — it tied everything together beautifully. Like the cheesecake, this was the kind of dessert you savor over a few days (if it lasts that long).
If you’re wandering around Canton after dinner and need a little something sweet, Vaccaro’s Italian Pastries is an easy choice. Whether you’re in the mood for a slice of cheesecake, a scoop of gelato, or one of their signature Napoleons, you’ll find something to love.
Vaccaro’s is located at 2919 O’Donnell Street, in Baltimore
