If you’ve ever been to Baltimore, chances are you’ve heard of Blue Moon Cafe. This iconic Fells Point breakfast spot has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and is practically a local landmark. On any given morning — even weekdays — you’ll find a line of hungry diners waiting outside for a table. Recently, my girlfriend and I decided to brave the wait for one reason: the legendary Capt’n Crunch French Toast.
The Capt’n Crunch French Toast is what made Blue Moon Cafe famous, and it’s easy to see why. We ordered the smaller portion, which includes two thick slices of French toast coated in crushed Cap’n Crunch cereal and grilled to golden perfection. It’s served with fresh fruit and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
The first bite confirmed the hype — it’s sweet, crunchy, and wonderfully nostalgic. The cereal coating adds a caramelized crunch that pairs perfectly with the soft, custardy center. It’s indulgent, no doubt, but it’s also the kind of dish that makes brunch feel like a special occasion.

To balance the sweetness, we also ordered Dimitri’s Salsa Burritos. The dish came with two flour tortillas stuffed with scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, and melted cheese, then topped with house-made salsa and even more cheese. The salsa was fresh and bright, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the hash browns added a satisfying crunch.
This is exactly what you want in a savory brunch dish — comforting, flavorful, and hearty enough to keep you full all day.
Between the legendary Capt’n Crunch French Toast and the flavorful burritos, it’s easy to understand why Blue Moon Cafe has earned such a loyal following. The wait for a table might be long, but the food (and the experience) is absolutely worth it.
If you’re planning to visit on a weekend, get there early or stop by during off-hours — they’re open 24 hours on weekends, so you can always get your fix without the brunch rush.
Blue Moon Cafe is located at 1621 Aliceanna Street in Fells Point.

I was just there! Your Captain Crunch French Toast looks better than ours… I am not sure I would rush back for that… But the rest of their food was decadent!

I loved it. I really want to try the sweet baby Jesus though.
