My girlfriend and I were grabbing dinner in Fells Point but couldn’t agree on what to eat. I was craving a burger, and she wanted pizza. Luckily, Kooper’s Tavern offers both — a win-win situation! I’ve been to Kooper’s for brunch before (and loved it), but it had been a while since I’d gone for dinner.
My girlfriend went straight for the build-your-own pizza, opting for her go-to combination of pineapple and bacon. The crust was thin and crispy, and there was just the right balance of cheese to toppings. Sweet pineapple and smoky bacon might be a controversial combo, but here it totally works — and she ranked it among her favorite pizzas in the city.
I went for one of Kooper’s signature creations — the Farmstead Lamb Burger. This burger comes topped with garlic herbed butter, feta cheese, and truffle arugula, and every bite was incredible. The lamb was juicy and full of flavor, the feta added a nice creamy tang, and the arugula gave it a peppery kick that tied everything together.

Of course, I couldn’t resist ordering a side of truffle fries — and they did not disappoint. Crispy, salty, and perfectly drizzled with truffle oil, they were the ideal companion to an already great meal.
Kooper’s is one of those classic Fells Point spots that never lets you down. Whether you’re in the mood for a burger, a pizza, or a casual drink with friends, it’s a cozy neighborhood tavern that hits the mark every time.
Koopers Tavern is located at 1702 Thames St, Baltimore.
