Give me a big bowl of noodles and I’m a happy person. There’s something incredibly comforting about ramen — the rich broth, chewy noodles, and toppings layered into every bite.
So when Jinya Ramen Bar invited me to visit their Fairfax location, I was more than excited to stop by.
The restaurant sits in the Mosaic District, which is filled with great shops, restaurants, and places to wander around for an afternoon. My girlfriend and I decided to make a day of it — a little shopping followed by a well-earned ramen feast.
Jinya’s menu is packed with more than ten different ramen options, along with small plates and snacks that make it easy to build a full meal around the noodles.

Chilled Sake
To start things off, we ordered chilled sake. Rice wine has always been one of my favorite drinks to pair with ramen, and the clean, slightly sweet flavor worked perfectly before diving into the meal.

Salmon Poke Tacos
Before the ramen arrived, we shared an order of Salmon Poke Tacos. The tacos were served in crispy wonton shells that held cubes of fresh salmon poke.
The combination of the crunchy shell and fresh fish made for a great starter, and it immediately made me curious about the rest of their mini taco options.

Spicy Umami Miso Ramen
The main reason we came, of course, was ramen.
My girlfriend ordered the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen after our server recommended it. The pork-based broth was packed with ground pork, bean sprouts, bok choy, chili oil, and thick noodles.
It was bold, spicy, and incredibly satisfying — the kind of bowl that warms you up immediately. She even took some home and confirmed it was just as good the next day.

Kara-Men Ramen
I decided to go with the ramen special that day, the Kara-Men.
The chicken broth was filled with ground pork, bean sprouts, green onions, onions, cilantro, chili paste, and a poached egg, along with thinner noodles. I also added a chicken dumpling to the bowl for a little extra flavor.
This ramen was absolutely incredible — easily one of the best bowls I’ve had in a long time.

Triple Berry White Chocolate BlockPops
After all that spice, we needed something cool and refreshing to finish the meal. We shared a Triple Berry White Chocolate BlockPop, which was the perfect sweet ending.
