Huck’s American Craft in Brewer’s Hill: Classic American Eats with a Twist

If you’re craving comforting American fare paired with great craft beer, look no further than Huck’s American Craft in Brewer’s Hill. Open for about a year, Huck’s officially launched its kitchen this past January, serving up inventive takes on familiar favorites. The restaurant comes from the same talented team behind Papi’s Tacos in Fells Point, so expectations were high — and they did not disappoint.

We kicked off our meal with the Boardwalk Soft Pretzel, which was perfectly buttery and nearly melted in my mouth. It came with three dipping sauces: grained whiskey mustard, Vermont maple mustard, and craft beer fondue. My favorite was the Vermont maple mustard, but honestly, they were all delicious.

Next, we tried the Wisconsin Cheese Curds, a must-order for any cheese lover. These beer-battered bites of gooey “squeaky cheese” were crispy on the outside and melted on the inside, served with a rosemary buttermilk sauce for dipping. If you’re a fan of cheesy bar snacks, this one’s for you.

My friend couldn’t resist the St. Louis Toasted Ravioli, crispy pasta pockets stuffed with herbs and Muenster cheese, served with Huck’s marinara and sprinkled Parmesan. She ordered these as her meal and devoured every bite.

To go with it, she added an order of Purple Potato Fries. These hand-cut fries were a bit starchier than traditional ones but still had great flavor. The Fresno aioli that came on the side tied everything together perfectly.

One of the standout menu items is Huck’s pretzel-crust pizza. My friend ordered the CBC Pie, topped with chicken, bacon, cheddar, and Muenster cheese. The thin, crispy pretzel crust was the perfect base — and, honestly, you can never go wrong with bacon on pizza.

For my main dish, I went classic with Huck’s Burger, adding cheddar cheese. It came with lettuce, tomato, and pickled veggies, but what stood out most was the patty itself — juicy, perfectly grilled, and packed with flavor. It was so good on its own that I didn’t even miss having extra sauces or toppings.
