BRD at R. House Baltimore: The Fried Chicken Sandwich Everyone Loves

If you haven’t heard of R. House in Remington yet, I’m genuinely impressed by how well you’ve avoided food Instagram. Since opening at the end of 2016, R. House has become one of Baltimore’s most talked-about food halls—and for good reason. With nine permanent stalls and a rotating pop-up space, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure situation for anyone who loves to eat.

Eventually, I’ll make my way through all the stalls here on the blog, but there was only one place I could start: BRD.

When my best friend and I ate there together, she took one bite of her sandwich, paused, stared at it lovingly, and said, “I want this to be my last meal.” Honestly? Fair.

On my first visit, I ordered the Bmore BRD, and it immediately set the bar high. Like all BRD sandwiches, it features two massive fried chicken breasts stacked on a soft potato roll. This version is finished with crisp pickles and a rich, mayo-based BRD sauce that somehow manages to be indulgent without overwhelming the chicken.

At first glance, the sandwich is a little intimidating. It’s big, it’s messy, and it requires commitment. But after the first bite, all concerns about dignity go out the window. It’s crispy, juicy, salty, and saucy in exactly the right ways—and yes, napkins are absolutely mandatory.

When I returned to R. House, I didn’t even consider ordering anything else. I went straight back to the Bmore BRD, and I’m happy to report it was just as incredible as I remembered. That BRD sauce? Still doing the absolute most—in the best way possible.

Consistency matters, and BRD nails it.

If you’re heading to R. House and trying to decide where to eat first, make it BRD. And if you’re a fried chicken sandwich person (who isn’t?), this one deserves a spot near the top of your Baltimore food list.

BRD is located at 301 W 29th StRemington.
