If you’re heading to M&T Bank Stadium for a Ravens game or a concert, the best pre-game food and drink spots are mostly centered around Federal Hill and the surrounding blocks near the stadium. This is where most of the pre-game energy builds, especially as kickoff gets closer.
There are also a few solid brewpubs right near the stadium itself, including Checkerspot Brewing, M8 Beer, and Pickles Pub. All easy walking distance and very much part of the game-day rhythm in Baltimore.
One thing worth mentioning is Ravens Walk and the surrounding stadium parking lots, which turn into a full tailgating scene on game days. If you walk toward the stadium early, you’ll pass through rows of fans grilling, setting up tents, and building the pre-game atmosphere well before kickoff. It’s one of the most active parts of game day and connects Federal Hill directly to the stadium experience.

Best Areas to Eat Before a Ravens Game
Federal Hill (Primary Pre-Game Area)
Federal Hill is the best area for pre-game food and drinks before Ravens games. It’s a short walk to the stadium and stays busy throughout game day with fans moving between bars and restaurants, especially along Cross Street. The neighborhood has a steady flow of energy before kickoff, making it one of the most convenient and reliable places to meet up, eat, and settle in before heading into M&T Bank Stadium.
What makes Federal Hill work so well is how everything connects. You can grab food, move between bars, and naturally make your way toward the stadium without needing a detailed plan — it all funnels in the same direction as game time approaches.
My favorite spots in Federal Hill:
- Delia Foley’s
- Wayward Kitchen & Bar
- Local’s Only
- Liv’s Tavern
- Ropewalk Tavern
- Cross Street Market
These spots all sit within a few blocks of each other and create a very easy pre-game setup. You can grab food from Cross Street Market, sit down for drinks at one of the bars, or bounce between places depending on the vibe.
Most of them have drink specials and TVs, so the pre-game starts well before you ever leave the neighborhood.
If you want to stay in Federal Hill right up until kickoff, Liv’s Tavern is also home to the Purple Patio and turns into one of the most active Ravens-focused bars in the area on game days.

Near the Stadium: Game Day Bars & Breweries
A short walk from M&T Bank Stadium, the energy shifts into full game-day mode. This area is less about settling in and more about being part of the flow of fans heading toward the gates.
Some of the most reliable nearby spots include:
- Checkerspot Brewing
- M8 Beer
- Pickles Pub
These places fill up quickly before kickoff and stay busy throughout the game. Checkerspot and M8 are good for local beer and a more relaxed brewery feel, while Pickles Pub is one of the most classic pre-game spots right by the stadium.
They’re also easy post-game stops if you’re not ready to head home immediately.

The Game Day Flow
Federal Hill and M&T Bank Stadium are close enough that you have plenty of great bars and restaurants to choose from, so it’s easy to land on a good pre-game plan no matter where you start. As you make your way toward the stadium, the walk naturally shifts into game-day mode, passing through tailgates, Ravens Walk, and streets filled with fans heading in the same direction.
