Belvedere Square: Clark Burger

“This is what a burger place should smell like” were the first words out of my mouth when I entered Clark Burger. If you’ve ever been inside of a really good burger place, then you know the smell I’m referring to, slightly greasy, full of meat, and like you’re going to have a great burger.

My friend ordered the Clark Burger which was a beef patty, topped with white cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, onion, lettuce, pickles, and CB sauce. The burger was fairly straightforward, but my friend really enjoyed it, especially the CB sauce.

Clark Burger really emphasizes their Canadian influences on their menu and in their branding, because of this I decided to order the Barque Burger. This burger came topped with Montreal smoked meat, pickles, onions, and spicy mustard. Think of this as a traditional deli sandwich with smoked meat, except over a burger. It was delicious, and something different than the burgers I usually order.

Last, my friend and I decided to split an order of Poutine, which is a Canadian specialty. In case you’re not familiar, poutine is french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. This was delicious, the fries retained their texture and shape and didn’t become soggy. I would return to Clark Burger for the poutine alone, and next time would probably order the poutine burger – because when in Canada (or the only Canadian eatery nearby).
