Luna Del Sea: A Locally Owned Gem in Downtown Baltimore

Looking for a locally owned restaurant near the Baltimore Convention Center? Luna Del Sea offers delicious seafood, steaks, and comforting classics in a charming downtown setting.

Finding a great locally owned restaurant in Downtown Baltimore can sometimes feel like a challenge, especially near the Inner Harbor and Convention Center, where chain restaurants tend to dominate. That’s why I was so excited to finally check out Luna Del Sea, a cozy spot on Pratt Street known for its welcoming atmosphere and classic seafood and steak dishes.

From the moment I walked in, I loved the old world Italian vibe—it feels timeless and elegant without being stuffy. The space has a classic charm reminiscent of a traditional supper club, complete with white tablecloths and warm lighting that make it feel like a true Baltimore institution.

At the owner Tony’s suggestion, I started with the French Onion Soup, and it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, topped with a perfectly gooey layer of melted cheese. It struck a great balance—savory and comforting without being overly salty or heavy. I’d order this again in a heartbeat.

For my entrée, I went with the Lamb Shank, which wasn’t listed on the menu but was offered as a special that night. The meat was incredibly tender, practically falling off the bone, and served over a bed of flavorful ratatouille. It was hearty, satisfying, and one of the best lamb dishes I’ve had in a while. If you visit Luna Del Sea, definitely ask if this special is available.

To finish off the meal, I tried the Salted Caramel Cheesecake—light, fluffy, and the perfect end to a rich dinner. I only wished for a touch more caramel drizzle, but that’s just my sweet tooth talking.
