Italian Dinner at Carpaccio Annapolis

One of my favorite quick trips from Baltimore is heading down to Annapolis. Between the waterfront views, historic streets, and great restaurants tucked throughout downtown, it always makes for a perfect day trip. Every time I visit, I seem to stumble upon another delicious spot.

Most recently, my girlfriend and I stopped into Carpaccio, and from the moment the dishes started arriving at the table we knew we were in for a great meal. Not only did everything taste fantastic, but each plate was beautifully presented as well.

The menu is filled with Italian favorites, and since everything sounded so good, we decided to share several dishes so we could try as much as possible.

Bruschetta Al Pomodorino

We started with the Bruschetta Al Pomodorino. The grilled bread was topped with fresh tomatoes, arugula, shaved parmesan, and a drizzle of balsamic.

It was simple but incredibly flavorful, and the fresh tomatoes paired perfectly with the crisp grilled bread. It made for a great start to the meal.

Carpaccio Di Manzo Parma

With three different carpaccio options on the menu, we felt obligated to try one. We went with the Carpaccio Di Manzo Parma.

The thinly sliced filet was topped with capers, shaved parmesan, and a drizzle of dijon mustard aioli. It was light, flavorful, and one of those dishes that disappears from the plate quickly.

Penne Vodka Carpaccio Style

My favorite dish of the night was easily the Penne Vodka Carpaccio Style.

The penne was coated in a creamy tomato vodka sauce with mushrooms, peas, and crispy prosciutto. The salty crunch from the prosciutto paired beautifully with the rich sauce, and every bite seemed better than the last.

Grandma Pizza

We also shared the Grandma Pizza. The crust was thin with just a bit of chew, and the garlic flavor came through nicely. It was another great dish and perfect for sharing.

Napoleon

To finish the meal, we split the Napoleon. Layers of flaky puff pastry were filled with custard and topped with a chocolate and vanilla swirl.

A Napoleon is one of my favorite desserts, so I was thrilled to see it on the menu — and it did not disappoint.
