When a new taco spot opens up, you can bet I’m already making plans to check it out. So when Vida Taco Bar opened in Annapolis — promising tacos made with fresh, high-quality ingredients — it immediately shot to the top of my must-try list.
We started things off with a round of drinks. I’m not a big tequila person, so I went for the Vida Hibiscus Sangria — a mix of pinot blanc, cab sauvignon, hibiscus, strawberry and pineapple gomme, and mint. It was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too strong. The kind of drink you can sip all evening.
Before diving into tacos, we shared the White Queso Dip, made with chihuahua cheese, Monterey Jack, silver tequila, green chili, tomato, onion, and cilantro. It was rich, creamy, and loaded with flavor. We ended up ordering a second round of chips just to finish every last bit — that’s how good it was.
When it comes to tacos, Vida gives you options — flour, corn, or lettuce wraps. I decided to go the lettuce route (to balance out all that queso, of course).
First up was the Carne Asada Taco, filled with grilled steak, pico de gallo, queso fresco, and salsa roja. It was bold, flavorful, and everything I want in a taco.
Next, I tried the Mahi Mahi Taco — pan-seared fish topped with pineapple salsa, pickled onions, guava hot sauce, and queso fresco. It had the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy.
And finally, my favorite: the Fried Avocado Taco. The avocado was warm and creamy inside, crispy on the outside, and topped with jalapeño, onion, and a smoky-spicy brick sauce. I could’ve easily eaten three of these.
Whether you’re a taco purist or someone who loves a little twist, Vida Taco Bar nails the balance between fun and flavor. It’s casual, colorful, and the perfect spot to grab a drink, share a few plates, and linger with friends.
Vida Taco Bar is located at 200 Main Street, Annapolis.
