Grump’s Café in Annapolis: A Classic Breakfast Spot Worth Waking Up For

Looking for a great breakfast in Annapolis? Grump’s Café serves hearty classics like waffles, corned beef hash, and crispy bacon — perfect for a laid-back morning meal.

A friend and I had breakfast plans in Annapolis, and since she’s the local, I let her pick the spot. My only requirement? It couldn’t suck. She’d been wanting to try Grump’s Café, and honestly, with a name like that, how could I say no?

We were both in the mood for breakfast staples, so my friend went for the Golden Malted Waffle — a classic choice. It came with two waffle pieces and a slice of bacon. Simple, straightforward, and delicious. Sometimes you just need a no-frills breakfast that does everything right.

It’s no secret that I love Corned Beef Hash, so I went with Grump’s Favorite — a hearty combo of corned beef hash topped with two over-easy eggs, potatoes, and a biscuit. The hash was a little saltier than I usually prefer, but still satisfying and filling, especially for the price. It’s the kind of dish that feels like a solid diner breakfast — nothing fancy, just good food done well.

Because bacon makes everything better, we shared a side order. It was crispy, flavorful, and the perfect addition to our breakfast lineup. Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with bacon.
