Chef Paolino Café in Catonsville: Classic Italian Comfort Done Right

For a while, I worked in Catonsville, and one of my favorite lunch spots quickly became Chef Paolino Café. My coworker and I would sneak out for a midday break and grab what I still consider the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had.

Fast forward about a year — I was hiking with a friend and we started talking about dinner plans. We wanted something light, but satisfying. While a Caesar salad isn’t exactly the healthiest option out there, it definitely beats most post-hike indulgences. And just like that, I knew exactly where we were headed: back to Chef Paolino Café.

Even after a year away, the Caesar salad was just as good as I remembered. The dressing was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly coated each leaf — not too heavy, not too light. Let’s be honest, Caesar salad isn’t usually the most exciting dish, but when it’s done this well, it’s totally crave-worthy.

To go with our salads, we ordered a side of Garlic Knots, which were absolutely perfect — warm, garlicky, and just the right amount of greasy (in the best way possible). They had that classic pizzeria garlic butter flavor without being overly oily or messy. Basically, everything you want in a garlic knot.

If you’re in Catonsville and craving Italian comfort food, Chef Paolino Café is a must-visit. Their Caesar salad is spot-on, their pizza and pasta are consistently delicious, and it’s one of those reliable local spots you’ll keep coming back to.

Chef Paolino Café is located at 726 Frederick Rd, in Catonsville.
