Federal Hill

Buffalo Chicken Dip and Craft Beer at Wiley Gunter’s in Federal Hill

When it comes to bars, Federal Hill has no shortage of options. But when that buffalo chicken dip craving hits, there’s only one place that truly satisfies—Wiley Gunter’s. A friend and I were heading out for happy hour, and after convincing her that the Redskins memorabilia wouldn’t ruin the experience, we decided this was the perfect spot.

Wiley Gunter’s is casual and comfortable, the kind of neighborhood bar where you can relax, enjoy a cold craft beer, and dig into some seriously satisfying food. Their craft beer selection is impressive, offering a great variety of local and regional brews—ideal for happy hour.

Of course, I was there for one reason: the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It arrived bubbling hot, perfectly creamy, and just the right amount of spicy. It was served with both warm pita and tortilla chips, which I loved—pita is my personal favorite vehicle for buffalo dip, and having both options was a nice touch. Every bite hit the spot.

To share, we also ordered the Pretzel Sticks, which came with three dipping sauces: whole grain mustard, queso, and honey mustard. The pretzels were soft, warm, and perfectly salted. While all of the sauces paired nicely, the honey mustard was my personal favorite—it added just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the salty pretzels.
