Grotto Pizza is one of my favorite places to eat at the beach. Sun, sand, and pizza is all I need for a successful beach weekend. I didn’t make it down to Ocean City this Memorial Day weekend but I was still able to enjoy one of my favorite beach treats thanks to their location in Columbia.

Grotto Pizza
My friend and I were enjoying some of the lovely weather we have been having lately and dreaming of beach days so we decided to visit Grotto Pizza for lunch. Even though there are no beach views, there is still outdoor seating which is enjoyable. We started our meal with a Caesar Salad – it was pretty straightforward but still a delicious way to start the meal.

We also split an order of Fries – of course with the addition of malt vinegar, the ultimate beach treat. They were super crispy and the vinegar added a delicious saltiness to each bite.

Fries
The real reason visited, was for the pizza. And it was just as good as I remembered. The crust was thin, with a nice chew to it and the pie was topped with round, thin slices of pepperoni. Such a classic and I loved every bite.

Pepperoni Pizza
Not a pair to turn down dessert, we each ended the meal with two scoops of house made gelato. I went with chocolate and caramel, my friend had wintermint and mint chip. All around this was a tasty and refreshing way to end the meal.
