If you’re looking for a laid-back spot in Federal Hill to grab a beer, catch the game, and enjoy some seriously good bar food, Shotti’s Point is the place to be. Since discovering it just a week ago, I’ve already been back twice — and each visit has been just as good as the first.
One evening, a friend and I were walking down Fort Avenue looking for somewhere casual to eat, away from the typical Federal Hill crowds. The teal exterior of Shotti’s Point caught our eye, and the relaxed, beachy vibe convinced us to stay. It’s got that surf-bar feel that’s equal parts cool and comfortable — perfect for game day or happy hour.
Let’s talk about the star of the show: the Rhino Chaser Fries. These fries are no ordinary side — they’re a masterpiece. A generous portion is topped with rosemary, thyme, parsley, sea salt, garlic, parmesan, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, with white truffle aioli on the side for dipping.
Honestly, these might be some of the best fries I’ve ever had — and I order fries just about everywhere I go. Every time I’ve been to Shotti’s Point, these fries have been demolished by the table in minutes. They’re that good.
My friend is a big chili lover, so she went with the house chili. It was hearty and flavorful, though she wished it had more of a soup-like consistency and wasn’t quite as heavy on the olives. Still, she said she’d order it again.
I decided to stick with a game-day classic — the wings. The first time, I ordered them with the Mild Shotti Sauce, a blend of hot sauce, garlic, and spices. They had great flavor but could’ve used a touch more heat. On my next visit, I tried the Zippy Can-A wings (recommended by our waitress), which were sweet with a sneaky kick of spice — definitely my new go-to flavor.
Whether you’re looking to relax with a cold beer, watch the game, or just enjoy great food in a casual setting, Shotti’s Point hits the mark. The chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and consistently good food make it one of the best hidden gems in Federal Hill.
And seriously — don’t leave without trying the Rhino Chaser Fries. No meal here is complete without them.
Shotti’s Point is located at 701 E Fort Ave., Federal Hill, Baltimore.
