Brunch at Kooper’s Tavern in Fells Point: Classic Comfort Food Done Right

The burgers at Kooper’s Tavern are legendary — that’s just a fact. But on this particular morning, my friend and I were in the mood for something other than our usual Fells Point go-to, The Point. So, we decided to mix things up and check out brunch at Kooper’s instead.

Kooper’s has that cozy neighborhood pub feel that just works for brunch — relaxed, friendly, and no frills. The menu had a mix of brunch staples and heartier options, so there was something for everyone.

My friend went with a classic Lox & Bagels, which came with a toasted bagel, cream cheese, lox, diced tomato, diced onions, and a side of fresh fruit. It was simple and fresh — exactly what she wanted. She loved it, though as a native New Yorker, I’ll admit I’m picky about my bagels (and nothing quite compares to THB Bagelry, if you know, you know).

I was craving something with eggs, so I ordered the Corned Beef Hash. I had an amazing version at Woodberry Kitchen last year and was curious to see how Kooper’s would compare. This dish came with a generous portion of corned beef hash topped with two poached eggs, plus a side of fruit and toast. The runny yolks mixing with the salty, crispy hash? Absolute perfection. I’ll definitely be back for this one again.

If you’re hunting for a solid brunch spot in Fells Point, Kooper’s Tavern is a great pick. The vibe is relaxed, the food hits the spot, and it’s the kind of place you can count on whether you’re brunching with friends or just easing into the weekend.

  1. It’s hard to find a good bagel with a schmear in this town! I know they probably didn’t hold a fiddle to a NYC bagel, but how did your friend like them? Acceptable? Any other bagel recommendations in Baltimore?
