Burgers and Beer at Wet City Baltimore

Baltimore, MD: Wet City

Lately one of my go-to spots in Mount Vernon has been Wet City Between the rotating beer list and a food menu that consistently delivers, it’s become one of those places I find myself returning to again and again. On this particular evening, my girlfriend and I stopped in before heading to a show nearby, which meant we needed something quick to eat — and of course a drink.

One of the best parts about Wet City is the ever-changing tap list. Every visit feels like an opportunity to try something new. If you’re not sure where to start, the bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to recommend a beer based on what you usually enjoy.

Soft Pretzels with Cheese Sauce

We kicked things off with an order of Soft Pretzels with Cheese Sauce. The pretzels were soft and chewy with just the right amount of salt, and the cheese sauce was thick, creamy, and exactly what you want for dipping. It’s the kind of starter that pairs perfectly with a cold beer.

Hot Chicken

My girlfriend ordered the Hot Chicken and it immediately reminded me why this dish is such a favorite here. The chicken was perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. It also had a good amount of heat, which was balanced nicely by the slaw. It’s one of those dishes that I almost always end up ordering when I visit.

No Temp Deluxe Burger

This time around I went with another one of my Wet City favorites — the No Temp Deluxe Burger. It’s called “No Temp” because it’s a smash burger, and honestly it’s one of the best burgers I’ve had in Baltimore. Two crispy-edged patties are topped with melted American cheese, shaved red onions, lettuce, and pickles. Simple, classic, and incredibly satisfying.
