After running a few errands in Canton, I was craving something quick and satisfying — and Greek food had been on my mind all week. Luckily, Samos Greek Island Grill, the fast-casual offshoot of the beloved Samos Restaurant in Greektown, was right around the corner. I’d heard great things about both spots, so I decided it was finally time to give the Canton location a try.
Whenever I see spanakopita on a menu, I can’t resist ordering it — and Samos didn’t disappoint. The flaky filo pastry was perfectly golden, stuffed with a flavorful mix of spinach, feta, and herbs. It was light, crisp, and balanced — not greasy or overly cheesy like some versions can be. Honestly, I could’ve eaten a second piece and still wanted more.
For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Platter, which came with two sides. I chose the Greek salad and the Greek fries. The salad was fresh and classic — crisp veggies, feta, and dressing — a simple but refreshing complement to the meal.
The chicken kebab, though, was the real highlight. Perfectly grilled, tender, and bursting with flavor. Even though the portion looked small at first glance, it was surprisingly filling with the sides.
And those Greek fries — crispy fries topped with feta, oregano, and a squeeze of lemon. They were tangy and zesty, maybe a touch too lemony for my taste, but still so good that I finished every bite.
If you’re looking for a quick, flavorful Greek meal in Canton, Samos Greek Island Grill is the perfect spot. Whether you’re in the mood for a light lunch or a hearty platter, their fresh ingredients and authentic flavors won’t let you down.
Samos Greek Island Grill is located at 3745 Boston Street, in Baltimore.
