Recipe: Grilled Wings with Carrot-Celery Slaw

Wings are one of my favorite things. And when tossed in a great sauce and thrown on the grill, it’s almost perfection. Some of my friends were coming over for dinner and I knew that wings would not only be super easy to pull together, but that everyone would love them.

Did you know that Budweiser has its own line of sauces – including BBQ and Wing sauce?! Well these sauces are delish and totally what I used to glaze my wings.

Ingredients

For the Wings

  • 40-48 Wings Roughly 6 pounds
  • 1 Bottle Budweiser Sauce My favorite flavor is the sweet and smoky
  • Salt and Pepper

For the Slaw

  • 1/4 Head White Cabbage Shredded
  • 1/4 Cup Shredded Carrots
  • 4 Stalks Celery
  • 6 oz Yogurt, Plain
  • 2 Limes Juiced
  • Salt + Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly salt and pepper your wings on each side and place on a hot grill close together.

  2. Grill for about 20 minutes, until they are cooked through, flipping every five minutes.

  3. While the wings are grilling, prep the slaw. Using a mandolin, shred the cabbage. Then, thinly slice the celery. Toss in a bowl with the carrots.

  4. Whisk the yogurt and lime juice together and toss in the bowl with the vegetables. Add salt and pepper as necessary to taste.

  5. When the wings are cooked through, remove from the heat and toss into a clean bowl with the Budweiser sauce, coating evenly.

  6. Use tongs to remove the wings from the sauce and put them back on the grill until the skins crisp, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Put the wings back in the bowl with the sauce, toss, and serve alongside slaw.
